Captain Richard Antonelli

Mr. Antonelli has been involved in emergency services for over 25 years, starting as a junior firefighter and EMT.  Over the last quarter century he has become an experienced paramedic and state certified EMS instructor.   He began his career at WVA in 2011 after serving as the Director of EMS Education for a company in the greater Hartford area providing pre-hospital education services.  Mr. Antonelli was hired as one of the three original WVA paramedics and began working as our Director of Training in addition to his paramedic duties.  He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and a few months later promoted to the Captain of Operations.  Mr. Antonelli oversees all aspects of training at WVA, including the EMT course program, CPR programs, continuing education for members, community outreach programs and our liaison for medical control issues.  In addition, Captain Antonelli is our EMS Administrator on the executive board.  He very much enjoys working for WVA, an organization that he feels provides volunteers and career employees with a more unique and personal experience that other, larger EMS agencies may not be able to offer.
